When Do I Get My Social Security Benefits?
It Depends on Your Birthday and Benefit Type
The date you receive your Social Security benefits each month depends on two factors: your birthday and the type of benefits you receive. Here's a breakdown:
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
If you receive SSI, your payment date will be the first of the month.
Retirement and Survivors Insurance (RSDI)
If you receive RSDI benefits, your payment date will depend on your birthday:
- If your birthday is on the 1st through the 10th of the month, you'll receive your benefits on the second Wednesday of the month.
- If your birthday is on the 11th through the 20th of the month, you'll receive your benefits on the third Wednesday of the month.
- If your birthday is on the 21st through the end of the month, you'll receive your benefits on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
2024 SSDI Payment Schedule
Your 2024 SSDI payments will come on the same day of the month as your 2023 payments. A new search page will load automatically.
Important Note
Social Security pays benefits in the month following the month for which they are due. For example, if your benefits are for January, you'll receive them in February.
