The legacy of legendary 1950s rock 'n' roll group the BobCats, co-founded by jazz singer and bandleader George Robert Crosby, is alive and well thanks to a new generation of musicians who are keeping the music alive.

The current lineup of the BobCats, based in New York City, is made up of Bob Elfenbein on guitar and vocals, Jenny O'Hara on bass and vocals, David Goldman on drums, and Mark Hipolito on saxophone. The band has been playing together for several years and has built a reputation for their authentic and energetic live shows.

Elfenbein, who is the musical director of the BobCats, said he was first drawn to the band's music when he was a teenager. "I loved the energy and the rawness of it," he said. "It was so different from anything else I was listening to at the time."

The BobCats' repertoire includes a mix of original songs and covers of classic rockabilly and doo-wop tunes. The band draws inspiration from a wide range of artists, including Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and the Everly Brothers.

The BobCats have played at a variety of venues, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Kennedy Center. They have also toured extensively, both in the United States and internationally.

In addition to their live performances, the BobCats have also released several albums and singles. Their latest album, "The BobCats Live at the Apollo Theater," was released in 2023. The album features a mix of original songs and covers of classic rock 'n' roll hits.

The BobCats are a testament to the enduring power of rock 'n' roll. The band's music has stood the test of time and continues to inspire new generations of fans.
